A popular children’s toy has been recalled due to fears over the possibility of choking.
Ireland’s Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) confirmed the urgent recall yesterday, Monday September 8, of the below Crab Shaped Toy sold on Shein online marketplace.
A safety issue was identified with the product and parents have been advised to stop their children from using it immediately.
A spokesperson for the consumer watchdog said: “The risk reported to the CCPC is of choking. Small parts can detach from the toy and become accessible, which could pose a risk of choking if ingested.
“The SKC number is sl2410073431734267. The manufacturer is Shantou Chenghai Chengyi Toy Factory.
“There are approximately 73 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.”
What to do?
Anyone who purchased the implicated batch of the product is advised to cease use immediately and discard it. It is important to keep it out of the reach of children.
Customers who wish to contact Shein for a full refund or to express any concerns, or to query the details of the recall, they can do so by contacting the company’s customer services team via email on [email protected].
