
One of America’s nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, branded “the largest warship in the world”, has been reportedly struck by four ballistic missiles today (March 1).
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it has carried out a successful attack on the US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln as it issued a further threat to the US, calling them terrorist aggressors.
It comes as U.S. Central Command has confirmed three people have been killed and several injured during Operation Epic Fury, but it has not been confirmed if they are on board the carrier. Officials from the US are also yet to confirm the Abraham Lincoln has been hit.
The IRGC said: “The US aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln was struck by four ballistic missiles.”
They also warned that the “the land and sea will increasingly become the graveyard of the terrorist aggressors.”
U.S. Central Command has confirmed three people have been killed during Operation Epic Fury action carried out today (March 3).
In a post on X, they said: “Three U.S. service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury.
“Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions — and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.
“The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.”
