When it comes to promoting their product, Apple TV Plus and Legendary just set the bar a little higher. To promote the release of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, the company staged an incredible drone show in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday night. The show, which used 3000 drones (and flew nearly 500 feet in the sky), set a Guinness World Record, and our man Ryan Cultrera (who you might know from our red carpet videos on JoBlo Celebrity Access) was there to witness the whole thing.
Check it out:
As you can see, the whole show, which ran about twelve minutes long, was set to a score by Monarch’s composer Leopold Ross, with Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell and other members of the cast on hand for the event. It was stationed over the iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery, but it was apparently viewable from pretty much any direction, with the press release noting that it occupied about three football fields’ worth of space, which is appropriate for a Kaiju. Godzilla, of course, was joined by his frenemy Kong, and a new Kaiju, Titan X, which will be part of the new season of the show.
Coinciding with the new season, you can expect to see some interviews with the cast (including Kurt and Wyatt) over on the Celeb Channel, but here are some more pics from the event, giving you an idea of the scale:
