LookFantastic has knocked 25% off an ‘elegant’ perfume that shoppers swear brings in floods of compliments. La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme would usually cost £97 for a 50ml bottle but has dropped down to £72.75 ahead of Christmas.
The gourmand scent opens up fruity with notes of black currant and pear before deepening to a floral heart of iris, jasmine and orange blossom. It gets even sweeter with a base of praline, vanilla, patchouli and tonka bean.
The ‘classy’ perfume was launched in 2012 with three perfumers on the nose. Olivier Polge (in-house perfumer at Chanel), Dominique Ropion (Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb, £69) and Anne Flipo (YSL Libre, £72) have collectively worked on a number of fragrance hits adored around the world.
It’s clear that La Vie Est Belle is one of those hits, with it bringing in an average rating of 4.8 from almost 15,000 reviews on LookFantastic. An impressive 12,767 of the reviews being a perfect five stars.
One happy shopper wrote: “I absolutely love this perfume! I discovered it in 2020 and have been obsessed ever since! Even better that we can purchase refills now!”
Another said: “I absolutely love the way this perfume smells! It is very elegant and classy, it is sweet, but not too sweet. It leaves a very warm and soft aroma around you. I am always getting compliments when I wear this perfume and it last all day!”
One shopper was disappointed by the longevity, writing: “I love the smell of this fragrance it’s sweet and elegant but I wish the longevity was there too! Even though it’s “eau de parfum” it doesn’t stay long enough on my skin! Please Lancôme make your fragrances long lasting again!”
To boost the longevity of a scent we would recommend applying perfume to clean and warm skin shortly after moisturising, ideally within minutes of showering. We would also suggest spraying at least one spritz per pulse point.
It’s clear not everyone has an issue with the longevity, another shopper said: “I get so many compliments and it lasts all day. Me and my daughter are in love with this scent.”
One shopper has even been loyally wearing this fragrance for a decade and a half. They said: “Best perfume ever made! It’s the only perfume I wear for the last 14 years and I have gotten hundreds of compliments throughout the years. This scent defines my persona and also makes me feel rich and famous.”
