CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A first-grade teacher at Havelock Elementary received a welcome surprise today as Craven County Schools announced the 2025 Beginning Teacher of the Year award.
Ashleigh Eadie was selected from all Craven County schools for the honor.
Each year, the school system recognizes one outstanding beginning teacher through a rigorous process that includes portfolio submissions and formal interviews.
“This means that all the hard work I have put in has been worthwhile, and all of my efforts have paid off. That means a lot to me,” Eadie said after receiving the award.
Now in her second year of teaching, Eadie will be running for the state’s Beginning Teacher of the Year competition after winning this honor.
