As per the details, the Bihar Youth Commission will comprise one chairperson, two vice-chairpersons, and seven members, all of whom must be under 45 years of age.
In a move aimed at empowering young people and expanding employment opportunities, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced the formation of the Bihar Youth Commission. The state cabinet has given formal approval to the commission, which is envisioned as a dedicated body to address youth-related challenges and advise the government on policies for their upliftment.
“I am pleased to inform that with the aim of providing more and more employment opportunities to the youth of Bihar, training them, and making them empowered and capable, the state government has decided to form the Bihar Youth Commission,” Nitish Kumar said in his official statement.
The commission will play a crucial role in advising the government on education, employment, skill development, and social reforms targeted at young people. It will also act as a bridge between various government departments to ensure coordination and impactful policy implementation.
As per the details, the Bihar Youth Commission will comprise one chairperson, two vice-chairpersons, and seven members, all of whom must be under 45 years of age. One of its key responsibilities will be to ensure that local youth are given priority in private sector jobs within the state. In addition, the commission will also look after the interests of students and professionals from Bihar working or studying outside the state.
Another major focus of the commission will be to develop and recommend programs aimed at combating social evils such as alcohol and drug abuse among the youth. Terming the initiative as “visionary,” Kumar emphasized that the broader goal is to make Bihar’s youth self-reliant, skilled, and employment-ready, ultimately securing a brighter future for the next generation.
