UPDATE: Fire crews have released new details on Monday’s tractor-trailer fire on I-24 West in Marion County.
Haletown Fire and Rescue says crews were dispatched to a semi fire near mile marker 145, where the truck was reported fully engulfed. Jasper Fire assisted with an engine and tanker, while Kimball Fire provided two additional tankers.
Firefighters say both diesel tanks were full, making suppression difficult. The fire was eventually extinguished.
No one was severely injured, but one firefighter suffered a minor burn to the hand.
All units cleared the scene around 5:45pm.
