Burswood is expected to be backlogged with heavy congestion this weekend, with attendees of an event at Crown Theatre being told to leave ‘extra time’ to avoid missing the show on Sunday.

Ticketmaster emailed an alert to attendees of Now You See Me Live on Friday regarding several road closures and increased congestion in the area.

“Please factor this into your travel arrangements, consider ride share options and ensure that you depart with adequate time for arrival,” the statement read.

The email warned that lockout periods will apply for latecomers into the performance and the may not be seated until the interval or seated in alternate places to their tickets to avoid disturbing the seated attendees.

The congestion is set to be caused by the huge crowds heading to Optus Stadium for the BBL cricket final between the Perth Scorchers and their soon to be decided opposition. The first allocation of tickets sold out in a record 34 minutes earlier this week and the Club looks to eclipse its record home crowd of 53,886 that attended the 2023 decider.

The stage show based on the hit Now You See Me films will make its Perth debut on Sunday, with a limited season at Crown Theatre from January 23 to February 1.

Created by the team behind The Illusionists, the production features an international cast dubbed the Four Horsemen, including Italian escapologist Andrew Basso, British magician Matthew Pomeroy, Spain’s Pablo Canovas and Canadian newcomer Lester.

Cast member Lester said audiences could expect a high-energy spectacle packed with surprises and big emotions.

“Whether you’re coming to the show to see death defying stunts or to watch close up in the audience, or even to just have a laugh and experience joy, the show is for all ages and every kind of person in the world,” she told PerthNow.
