With 2026 set to be a big year for Tom Hiddleston, the British star has already landed a big success in January. One of the most popular characters from Hiddleston’s movies and TV roles is making a comeback, as Jonathan Pine’s adventures are finally continuing.
After a decade-long hiatus, The Night Manager season 2 has finally premiered, as the first episode was released on Prime Video on New Year’s Day. According to FlixPatrol, the spy drama is now a worldwide streaming hit for the Amazon-owned platform, as it is trending in multiple countries.
The Night Manager is sitting at #2 in Belgium, Poland, Ireland, and the U.K., while trending at #3 in Finland, #4 in Australia, France, and Singapore. The series is also performing for Prime Video at #5 in Italy and the Netherlands, as well as holding the #6 spot in Sweden and #7 in Turkey.
As The Night Manager season 2 is underway, the series has 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while having an 89% rating on the Popcornmeter. The new season features the addition of Camila Morrone, Diego Calva, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Paul Chahidi, and Indira Varma, and Hayley Squires.
With his success on the small screen, this is coming less than a year before his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Hiddleston will be reprising the role of Loki in Avengers: Doomsday, set to arrive in theaters on December 18. This will be the first time he is back in the franchise after the end of Loki season 2, which became another major series in Hiddleston’s body of work.
However, while his show just came back, audience members can look forward to more, as The Night Manager season 3 has been greenlit already. In April 2024, the series scored a two-season pick-up, although a release window has yet to be announced.
