Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) 2025 wrapped up its two-day run at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay on June 11, gathering blockchain professionals, developers, creatives, investors, regulators, and enthusiasts from around the world.
The annual event, now in its fourth year, aimed to promote collaboration and growth in the blockchain industry. It featured exhibits, panel discussions, and networking opportunities that emphasized the Philippines’ growing role in the global blockchain community.
“PBW 2025 was more than just an event. It was a declaration that the Philippines is ready to lead in the Web3 space,” said Donald Lim, president of the Blockchain Council of the Philippines and co-founder of PBW. “We’ve built a platform where ideas turn into action, and where innovation meets purpose.”
PBW 2025 received strong backing from local and international stakeholders, helping strengthen its position as a platform for cross-border cooperation and innovation.
“What stood out this year was the strength of both the global and local communities,” said Janelle Barretto, president and co-founder of PBW. “From grassroots builders to international blockchain organizations, the collaboration we saw proves that the Philippines is ramping up to be the blockchain hub of Southeast Asia.”
The PBW team said the event laid the groundwork for long-term blockchain development in the Philippines and the broader region. It also helped form new partnerships and collaborations across borders.
As preparations begin for Philippine Blockchain Week 2026, organizers are planning PBWx, a series of blockchain events set for the third and fourth quarters of 2025. One of the events is the Global Blockchain Congress, led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, which will take place in Bataan this October.
PBW 2026 is expected to focus on real-world blockchain adoption and expanding the Philippines’ role in the Asia-Pacific blockchain landscape.
