BATH’S Ollie Lawrence said he was “buzzing” to be able to run out in Worcester Warriors’ return to Sixways Stadium.
The ex-Worcester man made a quick recovery from his injury in the Six Nations last year, in time to face off with the returning Warriors side in their first home match in 1091 days.

Reflecting on seeing all the fans packing out Sixways Stadium for the return he said: “It was pretty cool. Obviously it’s been a while since I was back here but I was just buzzing to see all the fans out and obviously see the boys running out for Worcester again, playing at Sixways which is something we all wanted to see.
“It was really nice, pretty special to be back here.
“It was funny, some of the fans had photos of me when I was playing here. Now with their kids grown up a bit more, having photos again now. It is nice to see everyone here supporting the team.”
As each player’s names were read over the PA ahead of the game, he and fellow ex-Worcester and current Bath player Ted Hill received a loud cheer from the home fans.
“It’s always nice (to get a cheer),” he told Worcester News. “It’s better than getting boos!
“Obviously going around and speaking to all the fans after too, they all seem delighted to have rugby back here.”

The England centre was impressed by the performance put on by Warriors and hopes the side will make a Premiership return in the future.
He said: “They tested us throughout the whole game. I think they have got the capabilities to do really well in the Championship this year so I wish them all the best and hope they can do as well as they can.
“This club has been a Premiership team for so many years. They went through the highs and lows of the Championship, coming back up and there has been so many highlights here that I have either been in the stands watching or been a part of so hopefully one day they get back into the Premiership – that would be great.”
