It seems as though Blade isn’t dead after all! Mia Goth reveals she’s still attached to the reboot as she gives her thoughts on the project’s many delays.
The Blade reboot has been through countless delays, ones that we won’t recount here. However, one oft-not discussed part of the project being pushed back is the cast and crew attached to it. Two directors, Yann Demange and Bassam Tariq, have joined and left the project. Actors Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre have also left the project. This has left many to worry that some of the more high profile stars, such as Mia Goth, may soon take their leave if things don’t get in motion soon.
Luckily for fans, it seems as though Mia Goth is in it for the long haul. The actress recently revealed in an interview with Elle that she’s still attached to the Blade reboot in an undisclosed role. She also spoke on the many, many delays that the project has suffered, remarking that they’re glad Marvel is taking the time to get things right.
“It’s for the best that it’s taken the time that it has. They want to do it right.”
Currently, there’s no confirmation on who Mia Goth is playing in Blade. However, signs point to her taking on the role of Lilith, potentially being the antagonist of the long-awaited reboot. There are two versions of Lilith in Marvel Comics, with perhaps the most well-known being a powerful sorceress whose origins were lost in the pages of history.
However, the second (and more likely) version of the character for Mia Goth to play in Blade is actually Lilith Drake. This version of the character is actually the daughter of Dracula, despising her father while still being an antagonistic force to Marvel heroes. Given she also shares many of Blade’s powers, she would be a fairly fitting antagonist for the reboot.
