Media Shows You Don’t Hate Them Enough With Hot Take on Karoline Leavitt Comment About Trump Interview

You’ve gotta love the legacy media and their lack of objectivity.

And by that I mean you don’t, and they deserve to be called out for their bias at every point.

There’s a story out Sunday morning that involves the CBS interview that Tony Dokoupil did with President Donald Trump.

The New York Times obtained audio from the moments that followed Trump’s interview with Dokoupil in Michigan on Tuesday, which included Leavitt warning, on behalf of the president, not to cut the tape.

“He said, ‘Make sure you guys don’t cut the tape, make sure the interview is out in full,” Leavitt said, according to the audio.

Dokoupil responded, according to recording obtained by The Times, “Yeah, we’re doing it, yeah.”

“He said, ‘If it’s not out in full, we’ll sue your a– off,'” Leavitt continued, according to the outlet.

The New York Times did note that it was likely meant as a joke.

The Times reported that some of the CBS staffers present believed the remarks were meant as a joke.

Dokoupil responded to Leavitt with humor and said, “He always says that!”

Kim Harvey, executive producer of “CBS Evening News,” was heard saying, “Oh, great, OK!”

CBS said they always intended to run the full interview.

But the New York Times was still framing it as an effort to dictate to the media if they “did not obey her orders.”

It’s a ridiculous take. They don’t care about the fact that CBS has had a history of problematic edits, and that while they’ve now had a change at the top with Bari Weiss, the concern has been a legitimate one. Not only was there the controversial Kamala Harris interview, where one of her word salads was edited during the campaign, but there was the 60 Minutes piece about the CECOT prison in El Salvador that would have run without a current comment from the Trump administration, despite the administration providing a comment. Weiss spiked the piece for that reason, but it did run in Canada.

But the Times’ spin shows how bias is still a problem with some media. If it’s a joke, why are they treating it as though it’s “orders”? Moreover, shouldn’t they be showing the full interview, and doesn’t Leavitt have every right to ensure that they do? CBS is trying to do the right thing by putting out the whole thing and letting the people judge, rather than editing and crafting a narrative. And what would be wrong about wanting the full interview? It’s a bizarre take from the Times. How dare the White House and CBS both think nothing should be hidden from the public?

Trump has shown, again and again, that he isn’t fearful about doing interviews, even with hostile outlets.

So if the Times thought this was going to make Trump or CBS look bad, it doesn’t. It makes the Times look bad.
