
A man with two dogs was rescued after he got stuck in mud. Emergency services were called out to Hale Bank in Cheshire, on the banks of the River Mersey, at 11.09pm on Wednesday, November 5 after the man called 999 asking for the coastguard.
He had become stuck and the incoming tide had risen up to his waist. With a flooding tide and an urgent situation developing, multiple emergency teams were called and worked to carry out a safe and effective rescue.
These were the Wirral and Crosby Coastguard Rescue Teams, Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936, a Merseyside Fire and Rescue boat, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, the ambulance Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and Cheshire Police.
The man and his two dogs were rescued at 12.10am and brought to shore using a Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service rescue sled. No medical attention was required.
