Loose Women fans will be left without an episode due to ITV enforcing a major schedule shake-up. The panel show comprised of veterans Ruth Langsford and Janet Street-Porter will not air Wednesday.
It is just today’s episode (Wednesday, November 26) which received the axe and it is expected to return to normal programming tomorrow (November 17). This change is due to Rachel Reeves’ budget, which is expected to take place this afternoon. The news was announced live on air.
As the Loose Women finished discussed and reacted to the latest news and topical issues, panelist Ruth said: “That is it for today I am afraid. We are not on tomorrow because of the budget”.
Loose Women have also been affected by their own ITV budget – with the show being taken down to just 30 weeks of the year, rather than 52.
Reeves’ budget, which will air live on TV and online, is expected to make huge changes to the national minimum and living wages as taxation is directly affected. The presenter went on to explain that the show would be back at its usual time of 12.30pm on Thursday.
Recently, panelist Coleen Nolan made a deeply personal bedroom revelation that left her feeling “insecure” on air.
The 60-year-old split from former boyfriend Michael Jones nearly 12 months ago. Coleen has since moved to the countryside, beginning a fresh chapter on a farm in North Staffordshire.
Before Michael, the star had walked down the aisle twice – first to EastEnders star Shane Richie from 1990 to 1999, then to Ray Fensome from 2007 to 2018.
During a recent Loose Women: Just Between Us podcast episode, a listener contacted the show asking about their partner’s desire to watch pornography in the bedroom.
This prompted Coleen to disclose that a previous partner had wanted to view explicit material “every time” they were intimate. She explained: “I think if you go, ‘Oh let’s get a takeaway and put porn on’, that’s completely wrong, that’s cringe, but if you just happen to put it on and don’t make a big deal out of it, it’s amazing how quickly you’re both into it.
“Some women aren’t, some men aren’t, then that’s fine, but then at least you can say ‘I tried it and it does nothing for me and it makes me feel insecure’ and that’s another conversation.”
