
Irish viewers were also glued to The Traitors Ireland, watching Troy Parrott secure a play-off for Ireland, the All-Ireland hurling and football finals, and the Prime Time presidential debate and the Katie Hannon interviews in the run-up to the election.
The viewing figures released by TAM Ireland/Nielsen Media showed that 45 of the Top 50 most-watched programmes across all channels available in Ireland were watched on the national broadcaster, RTÉ.
It also revealed that RTÉ is continuing to attract younger viewers, with an all-day share among 15-34s at 25.8 per cent, which is its highest level in more than 14 years.
Documentaries from RTÉ, such as DJ Carey: The Dodger, Gerry Hutch: AKA The Monk, and Michael Lynn: The Fugitive, were also hits with viewers.
While The Late Late Show, Dancing with the Stars, Ireland’s Fittest Family and The Rose of Tralee, as well as comedy and drama like Fair City and The Walsh Sisters, all proved hugely popular in 2025.
It comes as the RTE Player had 157 million streams in 2025, which is 10 per cent higher than 2024.
They said EastEnders was the most-viewed show on the Player, followed by Fair City, Home and Away, and The Traitors Ireland.
RTÉ News: Nine O’Clock and RTÉ News: Six One are also in the top 10 of 2025 on RTÉ Player, followed by Bluey, The Sunday Game Live, Yellowstone and Love/Hate.
