The Masked Singer fans have issued the same complaint just minutes into the new series.
The hit ITV guessing game returned to screens on Saturday night (January 3) for its seventh season, with more unmaskings than ever before, plus some format changes.
Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Maya Jama are also back to guess to guess the true identities of the masked characters.
At the start of tonight’s show, host Joel Dommett revealed that for the first time in The Masked Singer history, the first two episodes would be headlined by The Masked Singer Band. Goldfish was up first with their band No Trout, with Emperor Penguin and the Antarctic Funkeys set to follow on Sunday (January 4).
Goldfish wasn’t the only person to perform a song at the start of the show, as Mo also took a moment to sing. However, the show’s viewers weren’t impressed with how long it took for the first character to be introduced, with many taking to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustration.
“For god’s sake, get on with it!” one person wrote, with another adding: “FFS – this is terrible, American-esque s****, just get on with the show.”
A third said: “10 minutes of guff before it even starts,” with another similarly sharing: “Oh god Mo this is so cringe.”
