The XRP community has been buzzing since a bold prediction surfaced online. The post suggested that the token could climb 35,000% in value. At the same time, some see this as wishful thinking.
Others believe Ripple Labs’ recent steps could push XRP into a new phase of relevance in global finance. With a possible banking license at stake and legal uncertainty still lingering, the road ahead is both promising and unpredictable.
Ripple Labs’ decision to apply for a U.S. national bank charter, as noted earlier in our post, has triggered significant reactions across the financial and cryptocurrency worlds.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse confirmed the application on July 2, 2025. The intention is to bridge the gap between blockchain and traditional banking. Ripple is also positioning its stablecoin, RLUSD, as a reliable digital asset tied to the U.S. dollar. Interestingly, as highlighted in our previous news brief, Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin surged 20% in trading volume within 24 hours.
Notably, this announcement was quickly followed by a post on X from a popular XRP supporter known as Ripple Pundit. The post claimed that if Ripple secures the banking license and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ends its lawsuit, XRP could surge by as much as 35,000%. A chart included in the post showed an extreme green candle, providing visual support for the speculation.
Despite the hype, current price projections remain grounded in reality. Analysts believe XRP could reach anywhere from $2 to $15 by the end of 2025, depending on the pace of adoption.
For the coin to surpass $8, it would require a significant shift in market demand and trust. Ripple’s efforts to secure a Federal Reserve master account could influence investor confidence, but that process is far from guaranteed.
The SEC lawsuit against Ripple remains pending. However, the blockchain payments firm has recently dropped its counter-appeal against the agency.
CNF reported that a federal judge rejected a proposed $50 million settlement earlier in H1. The case, which dates back to 2020, continues to leave XRP in a state of legal limbo. The possibility of an ETF tied to XRP has also emerged, but no approval has been granted yet.
It is worth noting that, with multiple events still unfolding, such as the outcome of the SEC case, the banking license application, and pending decisions on a potential XRP ETF, the situation remains complex. Market participants believe that the future of the asset remains uncertain.
