In our bustling lives, we could all use an extra pair of hands around the house. To save time and effort, there are numerous home devices that can now be controlled simply by using your voice – and one in particular has been hailed as a ‘game-changer’.
The Echo Dot (latest generation) on Amazon, currently available for £29.99, has seen a significant price drop of nearly 50% from its original price of £54.99. However, shoppers need to act fast as this offer ends on October 14 at 11.59pm.
The device boasts a rich, vibrant sound, with enhanced audio, according to the brand. Customers can enjoy music, audiobooks, and podcasts via Wi-fi or Bluetooth, and they can ask Alexa for weather updates, timers, answers and playful interactions.
The Echo Dot (latest generation) comes in three colours, including charcoal, deep sea blue and glacier white, all with the current discount of 45%. The variety of colours and its compact dimensions of 100 x 100 x 89mm mean it will complement any interior.
Alternatively, customers might consider purchasing Google’s Home Charcoal Smart device from B&Q. Currently discounted to £44, down from £89 and then £64, this tech gadget is voice and app-controlled, with a speaker that delivers a rich sound, reports the Mirror.
Customers can also purchase Apple’s HomePod (2nd generation). Whilst pricier, costing £299, the brand claims it boasts an immersive sound system, spatial audio, room sensing, sound recognition and Siri, which can help with particular requests.
The Echo Dot (latest generation) is popular amongst buyers, who have awarded the product an average 4.7 out of five-star rating, based on over 46,000 reviews. Customers have commended numerous features, including its ‘sleek, compact design’.
One reviewer commented: “The newest Echo Dot is a game-changer. Despite its small size, it delivers an impressively big, vibrant sound with rich bass and clear vocals – perfect for music, podcasts, or even just asking Alexa for the weather.”
Others have praised the gadget and its versatility, noting: “The newest Echo Dot is exactly what I was looking for. It does everything I need, from playing music to setting reminders and controlling smart devices.”
Another highlighted how the current model has enhanced the previous version. They noted: “The sound is much richer compared to older versions – clearer vocals and a surprisingly good bass for such a small speaker.”
However, not all feedback has been glowing. One customer remarked: “Good product, still serves. Just not as intelligent as I would expect.”
Another commented: “Probably a device I couldn’t go without anymore. My only issue with it is that sometimes it struggles to pick up my voice on rare occasions but that might just be due to where I have it positioned.”
