On Friday, February 13, just after 5am, police received a report that Chris Baghsarian had been kidnapped from his home in North Ryde, a suburb of Sydney.
Early inquiries established that Mr Baghsarian was not the intended target of the kidnapping and had been taken in a case of mistaken identity.

A burnt-out vehicle matching the description of the getaway car was found in the nearby suburb of South Turramurra shortly afterwards.
New South Wales Police said investigations are ongoing.
