While the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra officially launched its $500,000 fund drive Saturday night, the campaign is already off to a fast start, with more than $100,000 already donated. And campaign officials hope to meet the half-million dollar goal — its most ambitious campaign yet — by the end of June. “We have an opportunity to elaborate upon an active and growing symphony,” said Campaign Chairman Donald R. Gintzig, in addressing supporters of the arts following the symphony’s concert Saturday. “We will count on you. My team and I will now go forward and solicit the rest, appealing to every and any willing individual and business.”
