Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal on Friday visited the residence of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, where he offered condolences over the death of Fazl’s aunt.
According to sources, the meeting also included a discussion on political and regional issues. Maulana Fazlur Rehman shared his concerns regarding the Gaza peace agreement and voiced reservations over certain government policies.
Sources said Ahsan Iqbal listened to the JUI-F chief’s views and assured him that his concerns would be conveyed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“I will inform the prime minister about all your concerns,” Iqbal was quoted as saying during the meeting.
The visit was described as part of ongoing political engagement between senior government leaders and opposition figures.
