Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, has announced that the Parliament approved a 66 percent increase in health sector allocations, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving services and enhancing citizens’ quality of life.

Speaking in a televised interview, Al-Mashat explained that all government policies are designed with the citizen at the core, aiming to deliver better healthcare, education, and services.

She noted that Egypt’s national development narrative links Vision 2030 with attracting foreign direct investment, ensuring that development efforts reach every governorate. The minister highlighted that economic growth has nearly doubled, rising from 2.4 percent to 4.2 percent in just nine months.

Al-Mashat stressed that Egypt has a clear strategy to manage global shocks, supported by productive sectors and reform programs. Priority areas for growth include tourism, agriculture, and industry, with Egypt’s modernized infrastructure serving as a backbone for expanding manufacturing and exports.

She reiterated that Egypt is determined to continue its path of economic reform, moving towards higher-value productive sectors while strengthening the role of the private sector as a key partner in development.

The minister also pointed to the landmark “Decent Life” initiative (Hayah Karima) as one of Egypt’s most important human development projects, along with the implementation of the State Ownership Policy Document, which provides a stronger framework for private sector participation.
