Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Saturday he hasn’t spoken to pass rusher Micah Parsons about his conduct during Friday’s preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons but plans to do so.
“I have not,” Schottenheimer said during a conference call, if he’s talked to Parsons. “I’m aware of it [the conduct], but I have not had a chance to talk to Micah. I will talk to Micah tomorrow and get a chance to sit down and visit with him and handle it internally.”
During the game, Parsons lay down on the training table for several moments and didn’t wear a jersey, which is mandated by Schottenheimer to all players who don’t play.
“Without talking to Micah, I need to figure out what he was doing and why he was doing it,” Schottenheimer said. “Until I talk to him, I’m obviously not going to talk about it.”

Parsons declined to comment after the game.
Schottenehimer confirmed Parsons had an MRI exam on his back, which he complained is tight. Schottenheimer said the MRI came back clean.

“At the end of the day, it sounds like the MRI came back pretty clean and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow when we see him,” Schottenheimer said.
Parsons is conducting a hold-in as he awaits a contract extension. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said Parsons is under contract for three seasons, his salary for this season, and the possibility of the team placing the franchise tag on him the next two seasons.
Parsons hasn’t practiced the entire training camp but is attending walkthrough practices and meetings.

On Aug. 1, Parsons requested a trade from the team.
