While most of the massive summer game showcases are now well behind us, there’s still one more to come as Capcom is readying to take the virtual stage tonight. After the new Resident Evil Requiem stole the show (for most gamers) at Summer Game Fest, tonight’s Capcom Spotlight might be one of the more anticipated showings in recent years and we already know RE9 is on the docket.
Xbox had a strong show this year – that new Clockwork Revolution looks wild if you ask me – and Sony’s summer State of Play was ummm…okay. Summer Game Fest was a mild let down for me…or at least until Geoff and the gang decided to bring us our very first proper look at the new Resident Evil 9 to cap of the show.
Some extended looks of that trailer as well as additional details from hands-on demos of the game have hit the net since then, but tonight will be the next official look at the game and quite possibly the first chance at some extended gameplay.
Resident Evil Requiem was indeed the biggest reveal of the summer showcases this year for many, and Capcom has already officially announced it will get some screen time this evening.
The publisher has also announced that two of the latest releases it is other major franchises, Monster Hunter Wilds and Street Fighter 6, are also on the slate, as well as another one of the more interesting titles shown off already this summer, PRAGMATA.

Capcom isn’t well known for any major surprises during its Spotlight showcases, so we don’t expect to see much more than that, but the chance of 10+ more minutes of RE9 is certainly enough to have me tune in.
The show kicks off at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET and you can watch along with us down below. The show is expected to run for 40 minutes.
