For years, Bully 2 has been among the most anticipated games from Rockstar. Die-hard fans of the franchise are still yearning for the sequel to the original Bully, which was a one-of-a-kind title. As of late 2025, the status of the sequel to Rockstar Games’ 2006 cult classic has finally been clarified by those at the top. The rumors of a return continue to circulate; however, official statements suggest a complicated history of development and ultimate cancellation.The short answer to this question is no, and Bully 2 is not currently in the works. In an interview at the 2025 LA Comic Con, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser broke the silence, and he attributed the absence of a sequel to “bandwidth issues”. He explained that with a small lead creative team, the studio back then had to prioritize projects like Grand Theft Auto 4, Red Dead Redemption, and Max Payne 3. As a result, there were no room to create a niche title like Bully 2.While the project is currently shelved, leaked internal documents and former developer interviews have allowed us to get a general idea what a sequel would have looked like. Here is what you could have potentially found in Bully 2: Currently, there is no official release date for Bully 2, and Rockstar Games is now focused on the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 in late 2026. However, there is still a little hope within the fanbase. Fans speculate that the 20th anniversary of the original game in 2026 would be the perfect window for a “Definitive Edition” remaster or a surprise announcement. Furthermore, Rockstar has consistently renewed the Bully trademark, and continues to release themed merchandise. This is a clear indication that they have not abandoned the intellectual property.For now, the only new Bully content remains the inclusion of the original game in the GTA+ subscription service and the apparel line.
