A seasonal jobs fair will be held in Liverpool this week, giving people the chance to find employment for the Christmas period. The Christmas jobs fair is a partnership between South Liverpool Homes (SLH), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and New Mersey Retail Park and it will take place on Thursday, September 25.
The event will take place at the Parklands foyer at Speke’s New Mersey Retail Park, offering jobseekers the chance to connect with employers and explore more 50 job vacancies from shops and businesses across the retail park.
Employers attending include well-known brands such as New Look, JD Sports, and Smyths with opportunities available for a range of roles in the run-up to the busy festive season.
Anyone aged 16 or over is welcome to attend, but must bring an up-to-date copy of their CV. To register, email [email protected] or call 0151 285 5680.
Once registered, attendees will be allocated a timeslot to ensure they have enough time to speak with each employer.
Tom Hayes, customer voice lead at SLH, said: “We’re proud to work with our partners to bring this jobs fair to Speke once again. It’s a fantastic opportunity for local people to access seasonal work, gain valuable experience and connect with employers who are keen to recruit from our community.
“We encourage anyone looking for work this Christmas to come along, and our team is here to help with CVs and advice every step of the way.”
Russell Hall, centre manager at New Mersey, said: “As we approach the festive period, we’re pleased to be able to offer a wide range of roles across our retailers including New Look and JD Sports.
“I’d encourage anybody who is on the hunt for a new opportunity to come along to the jobs fair to find out more and take advantage of the chance to join one of our teams.”
