With the release of its Season 2 finale last week, Fallout is riding high on the viewership charts and has once again topped the week’s ranking of Prime Video TV shows. The acclaimed post-apocalyptic video game adaptation ended its sophomore season with a polarizing but generally well-received finale, and now begins the long wait for Season 3. But while you wait, there are still a lot of great shows you could check out on the streaming service, including both niche favorites and popular hits. So, without further ado, here’s a look at three great shows that we think you should binge on Prime Video this week.

3 ‘The Wilds’ (2020-2022)
Created by Sarah Streicher, The Wilds is a survival drama series with a conspiracy twist. The show follows a group of teenage girls from different backgrounds who find themselves stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash and must work together to survive, but what they don’t know is that the whole situation has been staged as part of a social experiment. The series stars Sophia Ali, Reign Edwards, Shannon Berry, Jenna Clause, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Erana James, Sarah Pidgeon, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, and Rachel Griffiths.
The Wilds premiered in 2020 to highly positive reviews, earning praise for its writing, performances, and character dynamics. The show is often compared to the later, more successful show, Yellowjackets, but while Yellowjackets takes a psychological thriller angle, The Wilds is centered more on sociological exploration. A second season, following a group of boys in a similar experiment, premiered in 2022, which was also fairly well-received, but the show was ultimately canceled shortly after Season 2’s release.
2 ‘The Magicians’ (2015-2020)
Developed by Sera Gamble and John McNamara, The Magicians is a fantasy series adapted from Lev Grossman’s titular trilogy. Jason Ralph stars as Quentin Coldwater, a graduate student who enrolls at Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, where he learns that the fantasy world of his favorite childhood book series is real and far more dangerous than he imagined. Parallely, his childhood friend Julia (Stella Maeve) is denied entry to the school and finds her own path to magic. The show also stars Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy, Jade Tailor, Brittany Curran, and Trevor Einhorn in key roles.
Often compared to the Harry Potter franchise, The Magicians is a more mature take on the magical school trope that earned positive reviews from critics and fans of the books. Well-written, visually stunning, and brilliantly performed, the show features relatable characters, mindbending adventures, and a dark sense of humor, all of which work together to deliver an intelligent, unpredictable, and highly meta fantasy drama. The series was quite well-received throughout its five-season run, earning Saturn Award nominations for every season, and it’s easily one of the best fantasy shows of the past decade.
1 ‘Smash’ (2012-2013)
Created by playwright Theresa Rebeck and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Smash is an NBC musical drama series that revolves around a New York City theater community. The show follows their personal and professional struggles as they attempt to create a new Broadway musical. The series stars a massive ensemble cast that includes Debra Messing, Jack Davenport, Katharine McPhee, Christian Borle, Megan Hilty, Anjelica Huston, Brian d’Arcy James, Leslie Odom, Jr., and more.

Though it’s basically a niche cult show these days, Smash was quite a hit when it first premiered in 2012, earning rave reviews for its pilot episode, and it went on to receive several accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography (out of six nominations), a Golden Globe nomination, and a Grammy nomination. Unfortunately, the ratings and reviews steadily dropped as the show progressed, and it was ultimately canceled after just two seasons. Despite its short life, however, the series is an enjoyable watch with great music and performances, and though its time on TV was limited, the show found new life as a Broadway musical in 2025.
