
A boy was reportedly slashed and burned with a cigarette in an unprovoked attack in Warwickshire. He was targeted on Halloween.
At around 12.45am on October 31, a 17-year-old boy was approached by a group of men on Tavistock Street in Leamington Spa. Police said the group were wearing dark clothing and appeared to be around 18 to 20 years old.
As the teenager walked towards Kenilworth Road at around 1.30am, he was assaulted by the group in Christchurch Gardens. He was slashed and suffered hand injuries.

Police said the boy also sustained a suspected cigarette burn to the side of his face before his attackers fled. Nobody had been arrested at the time of writing.
Witnesses have been urged to get in touch with Warwickshire Police. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.
PC Alexander Toller, from Warwickshire Police, said: “It was believed to be an unprovoked assault on the teenager, and a number of enquiries are currently ongoing to identify and locate those involved.
“If anyone witnessed the offence or has any dashcam or doorbell footage in this area at the time, please call 101, quoting incident number 35 of October 31. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
