The new Formula 1 season is merely weeks away. Like every year, one of the most prestigious sports on the globe will unite some of the wealthiest individuals in the world on a weekly basis as they compete on the circuit and in the paddock.
Whilst F1 features numerous affluent drivers and team principals, there’s one individual whose remarkable net worth surpasses F1 legend Lewis Hamilton and Aston Martin proprietor Lawrence Stroll.
Larry Ellison, chairman, CEO and co-founder of software behemoth Oracle – Red Bull’s title sponsor – occupies the leading position among F1’s wealthiest billionaires, according to Crash’s list. He has a staggering net worth of £140billion, per Forbes.

He is presently the sixth wealthiest person on the planet, trailing the likes of Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg. He served as Oracle’s CEO from 1977 to 2014 and now operates as its chief technology officer.
Ellison was spotted in the Red Bull Racing garage during the Miami GP in May last year, alongside Musk. He possesses numerous spectacular cars and is believed to be close with US President Donald Trump.
For context, Ellison’s enormous fortune makes him roughly 400 times wealthier than Hamilton, who is valued at a reported £350million as F1’s richest driver.
Carlos Slim Helu takes the second spot on the list. Known as Mexico’s wealthiest individual and the billionaire benefactor who has backed much of F1 star Sergio Perez’s career from 2011 to 2024. Perez is now back on the grid with Cadillac in 2026.
Slim currently ranks as the 16th richest person globally, boasting a reported net worth of approximately £87bn, according to Forbes. A business tycoon, investor, and philanthropist, his company, Telmex, has long sponsored Perez.
Mark Mateschitz is the third wealthiest billionaire in F1, with a fortune of £34bn. The son of the late Red Bull founder Dietrich, Mateschitz ranks 38th on Forbes’s list of the world’s richest people as of 2025.
The Austrian billionaire owns 49% of Red Bull GmbH, the energy drink firm. Piero Ferrari then ranks as F1’s fourth richest billionaire.
The Italian businessman has a net worth of £5.7bn, according to Forbes. Ferrari, the only living son of iconic founder Enzo, holds a 10.48% stake in the Ferrari automotive company, where he serves as vice chairman.
As of this year, he is the 304th richest person globally and the fifth wealthiest in his home country. Aramco F1 Team’s owner, Stroll, occupies the fifth spot with a net worth of £3.7bn.
In 2018, the Canadian businessman led a group of investors in purchasing the assets of the defunct Force India Formula One team.

For the 2019 season, the team name was altered to Racing Point F1 Team, with Stroll’s son, Lance, piloting one of the cars. In 2020, it was revealed that Stroll headed the Yew Tree Investments consortium to inject £182m into Aston Martin, in exchange for a 16.7% stake in the company.
