
A woman died and a second woman was hurt after a car crashed into a tree in Nuneaton. It happened in the early hours of today, Sunday, September 14.
Police were called to Coventry Road, near the bus stop for Dorlecote Place, at around 2.05am. Paramedics also called to the scene found a woman in her 20s fatally injured. Her next-of-kin have been informed.
Officers arrested a woman at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving before she was taken to hospital. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police urged those with information to come forward. Witnesses can call 101 or submit details anonymously via Crimestoppers.
Insp Michael Huntley, from Warwickshire Police, said: “It was a tragic incident, and we have launched a thorough investigation to establish the cause.
“It is vital we speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the collision. Please get in touch with us.
