Motherwell and Wishaw MSP Clare Adamson hosted a Holyrood reception marking 30 years of the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
The event offered MSPs and parliamentary staff an opportunity to engage directly with the Scotland team, learn more about the Fund’s work, and discover how projects in their constituencies — and across the country — have been supported through National Lottery investment.
Since its launch in 1994, the Heritage Fund has awarded over £1billion to more than 5,000 heritage projects across Scotland, helping to conserve everything from local landmarks and community archives to biodiversity initiatives and cultural festivals.
MSPs showed strong interest in learning how the Fund can benefit local groups and community organisations in their areas.
Ms Adamson said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the National Lottery Heritage Fund team to the Scottish Parliament and to host this valuable event.
“For 30 years, the Fund has played a transformative role in preserving and celebrating Scotland’s rich and diverse heritage.
“I encourage community groups to explore how they could benefit from this vital source of support, and I urge MSPs to champion community-led heritage projects that bring people together and help share Scotland’s stories.”
