Soap fans have been left laughing after a deleted scene that did not make it into the Corriedale crossover has been revealed.
The hour-long ITV special, combining characters from Corrie and Emmerdale, aired on Monday.
It was centred around a huge crash, with two characters shockingly killed off and another big name returning.
But it is a “hilarious” deleted scene that viewers have also been enjoying.
Ahead of the special crossover episode, fans could vote for the ‘dream duo’ of characters from both soaps they wanted to see in a scene together.
Charity Dingle and Carla Connor won, with the duo meeting in the hospital after sustaining injuries in the crash.
Despite not being chosen, ITV has shared a look at Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) and Sam Dingle’s (James Hooton) meeting in the behind-the-scenes special titled Corriedale: Backstage Pass.
Hosted by Luis Elkes, it can be seen on ITVX and YouTube and features interviews with the stars and a glimpse behind the scenes.
The short clip shows Kirk and Sam in the hospital trying to work out a map.
Kirk says: “I gave some people a lift in the van but now I’ve lost them. I need to give them a lift to A&E. You here about the crash?
Sam replies: “Yeah. Aaron were in one of the cars. Charity were in another. I think our Cain’s been shot again.”
Kirk later jokes about Sam’s surname, joking: “Dingle? You’re called Dingle? Dingle!”
“There’s nothing funny about it!” Sam replies.
Kirk swiftly apologises, saying: “No, not at all. Sorry. I should get on. Peanut will be wanting her dinner.”
It is then revealed that Kirk smuggled his pet dachshund into the hospital, with Sam warning: “I’m not sure they’re allowed in here, you know?”
“It’s a good job I ran into you,” Kirk replied. “Someone with smarts.”
Viewers of the soaps have been left in hysterics at the deleted scene.
A third added: “They should have added this into Corriedale would be incredible and these two characters have something in common a lot.”
“Aww I love these two together. Wish this was in it”, said another fan.
The episode saw the end of vicar Billy Mayhew, who was stuck inside the driver’s seat of the minivan after the crash.
Theo Silverton appears to try to help free him, but then traps the vicar and escapes before it goes up in flames.
The episode marked the end for John Sugden, showing him lying dead in the woods with a gunshot to the head before revealing his sister, Victoria Sugden, staring back at him.
But arguably the biggest shock of the episode was the return of Emmerdale’s Graham Foster.
Cain survives a gunshot but was told that he had cancer before a mysterious man in a hood was heard speaking on the phone and said: “I am terminating the contract. I’ve got something I need to do.”
His identity was revealed as Graham, who returned after being killed off in an episode in 2020.
Graham was previously murdered by Pierce Harris before being left in the woods, and the episode shows Joe Tate there, appearing to get a glimpse of Graham before he heads away.
