According to reports, Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, Gaurav Gogoi, will lead the debate on Operation Sindoor.
Amid speculations over his participation in the Operation Sindoor debate in Lok Sabha, senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is at loggerheads with the party leadership over his recent remarks praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government’s policies, on Monday gave a cryptic response when asked about it.
“Maunvrat, Maunvrat (a kind of silent fast where one vows not to speak for a particular time)”, said Tharoor when confronted by reporters outside Parliament.

The Lok Sabha is expected to hold discussions on Operation Sindoor, the Pahalgam attack, and US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire claim after the government and the Opposition agreed to a 16-hour debate in the Lok Sabha and the same duration in the Rajya Sabha.
However, repeated adjournments didn’t allow the debate to start until 2 pm, with both parties accusing each other of running away from the debate on Operation Sindoor.
The proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament began at 11 am. However, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were both adjourned till noon amid the ruckus. Shortly after the proceedings resumed, the Houses were adjourned till 2 pm.
Union leader Rajnath Singh opened the debate on behalf of the government in the Lok Sabha when the House met at 2 pm.
