The internet and all of new media is blowing up over Conor Benn.
Since he left Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing to go to Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
Some have expressed shock that he left and went there but why is it really a shock?
Over 200 or more professional boxers have done the same already and joined Zuffa Boxing’s powerhouse based in Las Vegas.
They already have Paramount Plus on board and the UFC are showing all the fights as well on their channels and site so fighters want
to go to Zuffa Boxing.
The opportunity was there and he took it. Doesn’t look controversial at all to us.
What’s more, he even thanked Eddie Hearn and paid huge respect to him for everything he did for him, and that Matchroom did for him.
If you go over some of his interviews since, he actually did this properly and showed great class in thanking his old promoter (who is still a good promoter by the way).
But boxers want to join the new powerful thing not only in Vegas and America now, but in world boxing, that’s Zuffa Boxing ran by Dana White of the UFC.
The UFC are the biggest fight promoters on Earth at the end of the day by some margin.
By some miles.
Some think the UFC now with Paramount and the new deals in boxing and new things going on, could be worth near $100 billion.
What’s more, boxers are getting a chance to train at the iconic UFC Apex gym and benefit from the UFC’s marketing advise and sports science facilities.
Can you blame them for all wanting to join Zuffa Boxing, White and the UFC?
The UFC not only are the biggest combat sports promoters in history, and the best ones, but are possibly the biggest fight related brand of all time outside of Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.
You can’t blame boxers or Conor Benn for advancing.
