The Golden Globe winner recently shared with Variety, “What surprised me was Kim’s seriousness of intent. She always knew her lines. She was never late. She always was prepared.”
Close continued, “She had no pretensions that she was a great actress, but she was smart enough to have people around her who she could learn from.”
The 78-year-old also noted Kardashian’s humility, saying, “If she had a big ego or what I call a ‘life-is-too-short person,’ I would have been unhappy, but she’s not.” Kardashian, 45, has shown a willingness to learn and work hard alongside Hollywood veterans, impressing her co-stars despite her reality TV background.
Although Kim Kardashian impressed Close, it was working with All’s Fair creator Ryan Murphy that truly intimidated her. Close admitted, “I’d never been in a Ryan movie or show. … I didn’t understand the tone for a while. I found it hard.” Murphy, known for American Horror Story and other hit series, is a celebrated but demanding director, and his presence added a layer of pressure for the veteran actor.
Critics initially slammed the series, with Rotten Tomatoes even showing a 0% score at one point, though it now stands at 3%. Even with low critic scores, All’s Fair has already been greenlit for a second season. According to The U.S. Sun’s report, Hulu “already told Ryan Murphy that they are all in for a season two,” and the creator is reportedly “already writing and thinking of ideas for the second season.”
The report added, “It’s become the biggest Hulu premiere drop in years and one of the biggest of all time.”
The source also confirmed that the entire A-list cast is expected to return. “The cast would be invited back; they all loved each other and loved the experience. They’re in on the joke; they would happily return,” the insider said, showing that the team remains enthusiastic despite the reviews.
All’s Fair premiered on November 4, 2025, with the first four episodes, “Pilot,” “When We Were Young,” “I Want Revenge,” “Everybody Dance Now”, and “This Is Me Trying.”. New episodes are scheduled to air every Tuesday, leading up to the season finale on December 23, 2025.
