Who is Alissa White-Gluz’s mother? Frontwoman’s family explored as she departs from Arch Enemy

Alissa White-Gluz’s mother is Judith White-Gluz, who has joined her in some interviews over the years, including Outburn Online in 2019. The mother-daughter was featured in the outlet’s Mom That Rock feature in celebration of Mother’s Day that year. Judith was described in the interview as “one of the most supportive moms in music” to Alissa, who was a vocalist for Arch Enemy at the time.

However, the singer recently parted ways with the metal band after a decade together and made the announcement on social media on Sunday, November 23. The band posted the news on their Instagram account first. They shared an image of their logo along with the confirmation that they have parted ways with White-Gluz. They also wished her all the best.

Shortly after, the singer wrote a similar message, confirming that she had left the band after 12 years. She also teased some “big news” and “some big surprises in store” coming in 2026. But while she teased that big news is coming next year, she also didn’t waste time kicking off her solo music career.

She released a new solo song titled The Room Where She Died shortly after announcing that she had left Arch Enemy. Alissa White-Gluz added that the new music is the “first offering” from her upcoming solo album.

Alissa White-Gluz often speaks about her family in interviews and on social media. As mentioned, her mother is Judith White-Gluz, but her father’s name is not publicized. She also talks about having a brother and a sister in interviews. She said in an interview with Hardcore Humanism in 2020 that she has been a vegetarian since birth. Her sister and brother also grew up similarly.

She also said in the same interview that her sister, Jasamine, is three years older than her. However, growing up vegan is not the only thing she shares with her sister. They are also kindred spirits when it comes to music. The former Arch Enemy vocalist said that they had musical instruments in the house growing up, and she and her sister would play those.

Like her, Jasamine White-Gluz is also a vocalist. She makes music as No Joy, and she collaborated with Alissa White-Gluz back in 2020. They worked together on No Joy’s single Dream Rats for its first full-length album in five years, Motherhood. The sisters both made an appearance in the song’s music video.

While Alissa said that she and her sister are “very different in terms of personality and style” in the Instagram post promoting the song, she also wondered why it took so long for them to collaborate.

Alissa White-Gluz co-founded metalcore band The Agonist before joining Arch Enemy in 2014. Arch Enemy recently wrapped up their European tour and has several festival shows scheduled for next summer, but the band has not yet announced their new vocalist.
