On Dec. 15, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) shared on the “Bonnibel Blockchain” podcast that during BNB’s initial coin offering (ICO), he reached out to Yi He to serve as a Binance advisor — leading Yi He to help revise and draft the BNB whitepaper. After BNB’s ICO wrapped up, CZ invited Yi He again the day before BNB’s launch. “BNB goes live tomorrow,” he said. “If it surges tenfold post-launch, I can’t offer you this role anymore — either agree today, or we’ll renegotiate later.” This conversation pushed Yi He to join Binance just ahead of BNB’s launch.
