Economy VinEnergo launches rooftop solar, battery storage projects in Ha Tinh Saturday, 13:10, 09/08/2025 The VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company has signed memoranda of understanding to install rooftop solar power systems integrated with battery energy storage systems (BESS) with the VinFast automobile plant and two battery factories in the central province of Ha Tinh.
The projects mark a significant step towards green manufacturing, greater use of renewable energy, and the development of clean energy infrastructure in the Vung Ang Economic Zone.
Under the agreements, VinEnergo will invest in, install, and operate 43 MWp of rooftop solar power capacity and 45 MWh of BESS capacity across the three plants. The systems are expected to generate nearly 50 million kWh of electricity each year, cutting more than 33,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This will contribute to Vingroup’s goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
VinEnergo’s rollout at VinFast, the VinES battery pack and energy storage plant, and the battery manufacturing plant of V-G High-Tech Energy Solutions Co., Ltd will also be the first in the country to combine rooftop solar and BESS under a direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) model, in line with government policies encouraging renewable energy use. The model supports greener manufacturing and aligns with plans to transform the Vung Ang Economic Zone into a green industrial hub.

The Ha Tinh projects are just the beginning of its nationwide drive to offer integrated clean energy solutions. For VinFast, VinES, and V-G, the initiative reinforces their leadership in building a green manufacturing and transport value chain that supports Vietnam’s sustainable development goals.
