Backed by effective new policies and bold investment in local manufacturing, Vietnam’s automotive sector is gaining momentum and is poised for major breakthroughs in boosting localisation rates this year, starting with the landmark Vietnam AutoExpo 2025.
The 18 edition of the Vietnam International AutoExpo opened on June 12 in Hanoi and will run for three days. The event has been praised by both industry players and government authorities for its scale and professionalism.
Vietnam AutoExpo 2025 is a prestigious and specialised platform for manufacturers, assemblers, and businesses in the automotive, motorbike, electric vehicle, and supporting industries. It offers companies a vital opportunity to connect with potential customers, promote products, and contribute to the transformation of Vietnam’s auto and motorbike industries.
At the opening ceremony, Pham Van Quan, deputy director general of the Industry Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, remarked, “The automotive and mechanical engineering sectors are not simply about manufacturing; they represent technological power, industrial sophistication, and national stature. For Vietnam to become a developed industrialised country, we must master high-tech mechanical and automotive industries. This event is not only a showcase of new products and technologies but also a reflection of Vietnam’s aspirations for integration, transformation, and advancement.”
This year’s exhibition features more than 200 booths, showcasing the participation of nearly 200 domestic and international companies. Notable names include Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM), which is introducing its newly launched truck models such as the Foton T25 and Veam S80; Mitsubishi Vietnam, featuring customer favourites like the Pajero Sport 2025 and Xforce 2025; and TC Services Vietnam (GAC Motor), presenting models such as the M8 and M6 Pro.
The event also hosted prominent players in the motorbike, electric vehicle, and component sectors, including Goshi Thang Long, Nijia Vietnam, Daao Electric, CNC Hanoi, Eboost, Ben Thanh Rubber, and Nihon, all unveiling their latest products and technologies.
On June 13-14, the organising committee, in coordination with government agencies and industry associations, will host a series of side events essential for business engagement. These include business matching sessions featuring both domestic and international enterprises, alongside live tech demonstrations and other informative and interactive programmes.
Vietnam AutoExpo 2025 is expected to welcome over 12,000 visitors and participants, reaffirming its status as the premier annual event for the nation’s auto, motorbike, and supporting industries.
“The surging demand for vehicles in Vietnam presents a highly promising market for manufacturers and dealers. With new government policies and clearer trends in foreign investment, the outlook for Vietnam’s auto and supporting industries is brighter than ever,” said Phan Dang Tuat, chairman of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Industries. “The success of AutoExpo over the past 17 editions is testament to the industry’s growth. We believe that with continued collaboration among all stakeholders, Vietnam AutoExpo 2025 will further propel the development of our domestic automotive and motorbike sectors.”
