UPDATE: A man wanted by authorities on a charge of criminal attempt to commit murder in Cleveland is now in custody, Calhoun Police Chief Tony Pyle confirms.
Larry Nichols, who investigators determined was hiding in a Calhoun home, led authorities on a chase Friday night.
Crews had set up surveillance nearby the home, and when he was spotted leaving, officers attempted to pull him over.
Nichols did not stop, leading to the chase through Gordon County.
A deputy conducted a PIT maneuver, causing him to crash down an embankment. Nobody was injured.
“I want to commend our officers for their professionalism and thank the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance,” Chief Pyle stated.

PREVIOUS STORY: A man wanted for attempted murder in Tennessee is now in custody after a pursuit through Georgia Friday, Sheriff Mitch Ralston of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office says.
Around 8:15pm Friday night, deputies assisted Calhoun officers in pursuit of the suspect, who was not immediately named.
The chase began in Calhoun and headed east on SR 156 (Red Bud Road).
Sheriff Ralston says the suspect was traveling over 90 miles per hour and into oncoming traffic, “willfully creating an extremely treacherous situation.”
Just east of Red Bud, a deputy executed the PIT maneuver, running the suspect off the roadway down into an embankment.
Law enforcement apprehended him without further resistance.
The Calhoun Police Department, in conjunction with Tennessee authorities, are investigating.
There are no other suspects at large, and no further danger to the public, Sheriff Ralston says.
