LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 4th Feb, 2026) Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) Chairman Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan on Wednesday said that Pakistan would continue its unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people at every forum until the realization of their right to self-determination.
Addressing a Youm-e-Kashmir Solidarity Day ceremony organised by the Khawaja Rafiq Shaheed Foundation at Alhamra Hall, here on Wednesday, he said that Pakistan was incomplete without Kashmir and stressing that only a strong and stable Pakistan could guarantee the just resolution of the Kashmir dispute. He expressed confidence that the day was not far when the sun of freedom would rise over Kashmir.
Former Federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, former principal secretary to the prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, PML-N AJK Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, Muhammad Aslam Zaar, members of national and provincial assemblies, and a large number of political and social workers were present.
Addressing the gathering, Rana Mashhood said that lasting peace in South Asia was not possible without a sustainable solution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people. He said Kashmiris had been facing decades of Indian oppression, grave human rights violations and state-sponsored brutality, yet their spirit of freedom remained alive. Pakistan, he added, would never abandon the just struggle of the Kashmiri people and would continue to expose Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) at international forums.
He said Pakistan had been created through immense sacrifices and reiterated that Kashmir was inseparable from Pakistan. Referring to regional developments, he said the enemy continued to make failed attempts to destabilise Pakistan through fifth-generation warfare, but under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the strategic vision of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan had demonstrated its strength during Maarka-e-Haq, making it clear that India could no longer impose its will, including through the illegal abrogation of Article 370. He said Pakistan’s international standing had improved due to positive government policies, adding that Pakistan was now being called upon for mediation in regional crises and was effectively raising voices for oppressed people in Kashmir and Palestine.
Earlier, Khawaja Saad Rafique said Kashmir was Pakistan’s jugular vein and its resolution in line with UN resolutions was inevitable. He said the subcontinent’s partition agenda remained incomplete without Kashmir and that peace in South Asia was directly linked to Kashmir’s freedom. He termed India’s unilateral revocation of Kashmir’s special status illegal and ineffective, stating that Kashmir was not merely a territorial issue but an ideological one, without which Pakistan’s foundational ideology remained incomplete.
He said Pakistan was a peace-loving country that desired good relations with neighbours, but warned that India’s alleged proxy activities in Balochistan posed grave risks to regional peace. He urged India to prioritise the welfare of its own impoverished population instead of excessive defence spending. He said that the flag of love for Kashmir would never be lowered and recalled that February 5 was observed as Youm-e-Kashmir Solidarity Day on the call of Nawaz Sharif, a tradition that would continue.
On the occasion, PML-N AJK Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Farooq said Pakistanis and Kashmiris shared an unbreakable bond of ideology and faith, adding that a strong Pakistan was essential for a strong Kashmir. He highlighted development projects initiated during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure in AJK, including power, education and infrastructure schemes, and said the slogan “Kashmir Banega Pakistan” was deeply embedded in the hearts of Kashmiris.
Former principal secretary to the prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad said the Kashmiri people had endured unparalleled oppression for more than three decades. He said India itself had taken the Kashmir issue to the United Nations and later reneged on its commitments. He stressed that the hearts of Pakistanis and Kashmiris beat together and the two could not be separated. He paid tribute to Kashmiri leaders and martyrs, saying their sacrifices would not go in vain.
Resolutions were also adopted at the event demanding the grant of the right to self-determination to Kashmiris in line with UN resolutions, an end to atrocities in occupied Kashmir, and the release of detained Kashmiri leaders. Another resolution called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an impartial investigation into Israeli war crimes. Participants unanimously endorsed the resolutions by raising their hands.
The participants also offered Fateha for the departed soul of former AJK president Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.
