‘Unrecognized’ – APC Youths Reject ‘Coalition’, Back Tinubu’s Minister

The North West All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has distanced itself from a self-styled coalition of APC support groups in Kebbi State, describing it as “unregistered, unrecognized, and lacking legitimacy” within the party’s structure.

Speaking at a press briefing in Kaduna on Wednesday, the league’s National Coordinator, Comrade Aliyu Suleiman, said the purported coalition had no foundation within the APC at any level – ward, local government, state, or national.

He said: “This so-called coalition has never contributed to party activities, never mobilized a voter, and has no record of grassroots engagement. Its only function is to exploit Senator Bagudu’s reputation for personal gain.”

The group reaffirmed its unwavering support for Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, describing him as “an invaluable asset to the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the people of Kebbi State and the wider North West.”

According to Suleiman, Bagudu’s leadership has strengthened party structures, fostered unity, and delivered policies that have positively impacted communities.

“Senator Bagudu has consistently prioritized governance, youth development, and inclusive progress. He is approachable, committed, and focused on advancing policies that improve the lives of ordinary citizens. His experience and vision are indispensable to the APC and to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” he added.

The APC Youths described the coalition’s recent statements as “baseless and divisive,” accusing its members of attempting to destabilize the party’s internal cohesion.

“These claims reflect the desperation of political opportunists who seek to undermine the progress achieved under Minister Bagudu’s stewardship,” Suleiman said.

The youth league called on all APC members and supporters in the region to remain united behind Governor Nasir Idris, stressing that party cohesion was critical to sustaining the APC’s developmental gains in Kebbi and the North West.

“The APC has achieved significant milestones in governance, infrastructure, and youth empowerment thanks to the leadership of Senator Bagudu and other committed party figures. Party members must focus on consolidating these achievements rather than being distracted by unfounded claims,” Suleiman emphasized.

It vowed to ensure that Senator Bagudu continues to play a central role in strengthening the party, advancing government policies, and promoting the welfare of citizens across Kebbi State and the North West region.
