This initiative, backed by blockchain platform peaq and venture studio Pulsar Group, seeks to pioneer a decentralized ecosystem where humans and robots collaborate to create value, leveraging AI, machines, and Web3 technologies.
The Machine Economy Free Zone (MEFZ) is designed to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, attract investment, and foster innovation through decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) applications. The MEFZ will focus on compliant tokenization and investment frameworks for autonomous robots and machines.
Physical and virtual sandboxes will enable founders to launch and scale machine-based applications and smart city technologies. The initiative also aims to connect top DePIN applications with institutional investors and support depin research and progress.
One of the initial innovations to be tested is a Machine Tokenization framework, which aims to lower the barrier for individuals to co-own high-cost robots. The MEFZ will also host a Universal Basic Ownership (UBO) pilot, distributing machine-generated profits to individuals affected by automation.
