Meetings with industry leaders will foster collaboration and shape the future of AI.
The Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office, in partnership with the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, is orchestrating a groundbreaking visit for 50 Chief AI Officers from various federal and local entities to prominent technology companies in the United States.
This initiative highlights the UAE’s dedication to enhancing its status as a global exemplar of digital transformation and promoting the integration of AI within government operations.
Over the course of 10 days, Chief AI Officers will gain firsthand exposure to state-of-the-art innovations and emerging technology trends while facilitating the exchange of best practices. The program also seeks to cultivate robust networks with technology leaders, ultimately improving government performance and ensuring preparedness for the future.
The agenda includes meetings with leaders and representatives from international technology firms, innovation hubs, and AI specialists to explore collaborative opportunities and shape the sector’s future.
The delegation will tour some of the world’s most esteemed companies, such as Google, Meta, OpenAI, Palantir, NVIDIA, IBM, Amazon, and Microsoft.
This visit embodies the government’s commitment to advancing the goals of the UAE National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, which was launched in 2017 as part of the UAE Centennial 2071 initiative. This strategy aspires to establish the UAE as the premier country globally across various domains.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasized that since the inception of the UAE National Artificial Intelligence Strategy under UAE Centennial 2071, the nation’s leadership has articulated a detailed vision to shape the future.
He remarked that this visit marks a significant milestone in bolstering national efforts to amplify the role of AI, expedite the adoption of next-generation digital solutions, and cultivate strategic partnerships with leading technology firms worldwide.

Al Olama further noted that the initiative reinforces the UAE’s position as a global nucleus for artificial intelligence, showcasing the nation’s pioneering experience in leveraging AI to enhance government services, develop future-ready policies, and elevate the presence of its leaders and experts on the international stage.
Mohammed bin Taliah, chief of Government Services of the UAE Government and head of the delegation, stated that the visit serves as a crucial platform for Chief AI Officers to directly engage with global technology leaders. He added that the program facilitates the exchange of expertise, the crafting of innovative approaches, and the adoption of best practices that will positively influence the quality of government performance and services.
He further emphasized that the visit provides invaluable opportunities to glean insights into the strategies of leading international technology companies in AI, and how these capabilities can be utilized to further enhance the UAE’s competitiveness and global leadership in future-driven sectors.
This knowledge-centric visit for Chief AI Officers aligns with the UAE Government’s vision, which prioritizes investment in human capital, recognizing national talent as a cornerstone of the country’s digital evolution. The initiative is part of broader efforts to position the UAE as a global leader in future readiness.
Moreover, it underscores the UAE’s commitment to establishing strategic international partnerships that support national objectives and bolster its leadership in the digital economy and emerging technologies.
Further reinforcing the UAE’s AI ambitions, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) reported a surge in AI-related patent applications originating from the UAE, with a 32 percent increase in filings during 2024 compared to the previous year, placing the country among the top innovators in the Middle East region. This growth reflects the tangible outcomes of initiatives like this delegation visit, as highlighted in WIPO’s 2025 Global Innovation Report. Additionally, the International Data Corporation (IDC) forecasts that the UAE’s spending on AI systems is expected to reach $1.4 billion by the end of 2025, driven by government investments and private sector adoption aimed at enhancing smart city projects and public service delivery, according to IDC’s Middle East AI Market Analysis 2025.
Furthermore, the UAE’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence regularly publishes progress reports detailing the implementation of AI technologies across federal entities; the 2024 edition reported over 60 AI-powered projects successfully integrated within government operations, leading to efficiency improvements estimated at 20 percent, according to official UAE government digital transformation statistics. These reports are accessible through the government portal and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence’s official website, providing crucial insights into the evolving AI ecosystem and its impact on the UAE’s digital economy.
The continued collaboration between federal AI offices and global tech leaders is also backed by the UAE’s commitment to frameworks set by the OECD Artificial Intelligence Policy Observatory (OECD AI PO), which the country joined as a key partner in 2023. This engagement aids in aligning national AI governance standards with international best practices, reinforcing ethical and responsible AI deployment. The strategic engagement is further complemented by partnerships with academic institutions such as the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), which contributes cutting-edge research and workforce development, ensuring that the country’s AI leadership is sustainable and innovation-driven. All these multi-dimensional efforts position the UAE not only as a consumer of AI technologies but as a global contributor to AI innovation and policy, as extensively documented by UAE government white papers and independent analysis, available through the UAE Cabinet’s official website and the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy resources.
