Tyson Fury claims to confirm Oleksandr Usyk trilogy date and venue just hours after denying ring return

Tyson Fury is claiming that he has a date and venue for his trilogy fight with Oleksandr Usyk – despite also insisting he is retired from fighting.

The legendary two-time boxing world heavyweight champion famously won every belt there is to win throughout his career. But he was never undisputed after losing his two efforts to unify the division against Usyk in 2024.

Now, he claims that he will face the Ukrainian once more – this time on home soil after claiming to have been robbed in Saudi Arabia last time out. His mind seems to have changed dramatically within hours of an interview he gave at the IBA Pro Show in Turkey, claiming he was fully done with the sport.

Tyson Fury has taken to social media this morning to claim that he will fight Oleksandr Usyk next year, presumably in the case that the current unified champion defeats Daniel Dubois this month. He has said that the one fight he would come back for would be the trilogy, and it now seems it is happening.

Last night, Saudi boxing supremo Turki Alalshikh announced that Fury would be making a boxing return, alluding to pursuit of a ‘rabbit’ in Usyk. And the former fighter has now posted a date, venue and even where to look for tickets in an Instagram post.

“April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium,” Fury wrote. “The trilogy! UK. Contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets.” He has also shared a photo with Alalshikh to his story with the caption “Let’s see what 2026 brings,” alongside a series of dollar signs.

He also shared an overhead shot of a plush mansion with the caption: “Massive thanks to my bro Turki for my new house”.

The news comes as a big shock to fight fans who just yesterday will have watched multiple media scrums and interviews Fury gave where he insisted that he was retired. He hung up his gloves for the umpteenth time after the second fight with Usyk.

“What would I be coming back for?” He asked reporters who questioned if he would ever eye a return just hours before his Instagram post. “I’ve won every belt, haven’t I? So there’s not much to come back for.

“Does the love of the sport overthrow my health? There you go then… You’ve got to worry about your health, your health is your wealth… It’s inevitable [that I’ll have issues later in life] with the fights I’ve had.”
