Recently, TXT’s Soobin shared accounts of his time as a trainee, including him stating that he and other members had been abused while learning choreographies.
During a live stream, Soobin shared that when he and Taehyun were middle schoolers, they were suddenly asked to learn difficult choreography by SEVENTEEN by themselves and perform it. Soobin added that it was when both of them had just begun dancing for a week or two.
Additionally, he added that other trainees were treated worse and hit more often.
Fans Erupt In Rage After TXT’s Soobin Confesses He Was Hit As A Trainee
Fans were outraged by this revelation, which quickly gained traction online.
In the process, NJZ (NewJeans) and their current dispute with HYBE was brought up.
NJZ have been in dispute with HYBE and ADOR since former CEO Min Hee Jin was ousted and have attempted to have their contracts terminated. The group made claims of subtle bullying and mistreatment from HYBE, with some criticism being directed at other groups under the company.
HYBE Slammed For Exposing ILLIT As Group Allegedly Instructed To Ignore NewJeans
NJZ previously referred to HYBE as an “abusive dad,” a commentary on the emotional abuse they have claimed they were subjected to.
Fans of TXT felt that any comparisons did not apply due to Soobin’s incident taking place before HYBE existed, and that he stated that this no longer occurs with trainees.
On the other hand, as BIGHIT still exists as a subsidiary, some felt it displayed a pattern of abuse from HYBE instead.
HYBE has been criticized for other instances of idols appearing to be mistreated, which you can read about below.
