Both the episodes will be airing consecutively on Tuesday 13 January.
The first episode, “Jay Lang: Online Sexual Predator”, examines the investigation into Jay Lang, from Canvey Island, who abused and blackmailed dozens of victims through social media between 2018 and 2021.

Lang, who was 24 at the time of his conviction and sentencing in 2023, posed as a 16-year-old girl named Chloe on platforms including Snapchat and Instagram.
He targeted boys, some as young as 11, engaging in sexualised conversations and requesting images or videos.
Once he obtained these images, Lang would reveal his true identity and demand further content or money, effectively blackmailing his victims.
In two cases, he also arranged to meet the boys in person, committing further offences during these encounters.
The second episode, “James Gibbons: Murdered by a Teenager”, tells the tragic story of James Gibbons, who was murdered outside his home by a 16-year-old.
The documentary explores the circumstances of the killing, the police investigation, and the impact on James’s family and the local community.

Both episodes feature interviews with former Essex Police Detective Sergeant Ben Rushmere, with the first episode also including a moving account from one of Jay Lang’s victims, who shared his story anonymously.
