Trust Wallet Token (TWT) experienced a sharp price increase of over 40% following remarks from Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao about the token’s expanding utility. The price surge came as Trust Wallet, the world’s leading self-custody Web3 wallet, announced an ambitious new roadmap centered around TWT.
The price of TWT rose from around $0.89 to over $1.2 minutes after CZ’s statement on X. The token briefly touched $1.3 on Binance before settling around $1.1, according to CoinGecko data.
Despite the recent gains, TWT remains down over 50% from its all-time high of $2.7 reached in late 2022.
CZ commented on the token’s evolution, saying: “TWT token started as an experiment. The FDV got too high quickly. They burned 99% of the supply, but didn’t have too many use cases for it. Now that’s expanding.”
Trust Wallet has grown to become the number one self-custody wallet globally since its launch in 2017. It now supports more than 100 blockchains and has over 210 million users worldwide.
The platform currently secures over $30 billion in user asset balances and has become the gateway for millions to send, trade, earn, and access crypto and digital assets.
Trust Wallet’s statistics show its dominant position in the market. The wallet has captured over 35% market share across downloads and active users.
The platform has seen 4x year-over-year revenue growth from 2023 to 2024, with $1 billion in average monthly swap volume and $750 million total value locked in staking products.
Trust Wallet was the first crypto wallet to achieve ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certifications for security and privacy. It has also pioneered innovations such as FlexGas (EIP-7702) and smart wallet standards.

The new roadmap from Trust Wallet is built around four growth layers designed to make crypto more accessible and rewarding for mass adoption.
The first layer focuses on everyday finance, with features for easy crypto payments, gas-free transactions, and scam protection via Trust Card, Trust Pay, and Virtual Accounts.
The second layer centers on advanced trading, turning Trust Wallet into a full trading hub with self-custody at its core. This includes advanced trading modes with perpetuals up to 100x leverage.
The third layer focuses on earning opportunities, with TWT unlocking ways to earn and compound returns. Users can boost yields by holding TWT and gain access to exclusive airdrops.
The fourth layer looks toward future expansion into identity, credit, embedded DeFi, and next-generation ownership models.
Trust Wallet has positioned itself as a launchpad to the broader Binance ecosystem. With its new Trust Alpha (‘Launchpool 2.0’) feature, projects that engage with the Trust Wallet community can position themselves for broader opportunities within the Binance ecosystem.
