A car has gone up in flames on a major Perth freeway, with motorists urged to exercise extreme caution in the area.
The vehicle erupted into flames after a crash on Mitchell Freeway southbound, just before the Hutton Street exit in Osborne Park about 10.11am on Friday.
The right three lanes have been closed as a result, with Main Roads WA confirming traffic is backed up to Karrinyup Road.
A video taken by a passenger in a car driving by the crash shows three fire trucks, one ambulance and one police car at the scene.
